This page made me realize how much I hate drawing hands! On the other hand (har har), I really like how this came out overall for the action. I’m not well-practiced in drawing action scenes and the next few pages are going to challenge me considerably. But I will keep going and do my best! So if you like what I’m doing, please vote! As of this posting I’m at #356! Only 156 more places to climb to get a huge picture of the Metamorphosis cast!

I tried making the last panel so that Ianthe had speed lines without looking like she had a beard. I’m still not convinced but I think it’s better than nothing.

The final results were Dirk and Qul and I drew them both in their alternate outfits. Dirk’s dressed in gladiator’s garb. Qul is wearing the sort of body paint he’d wear back on Ssilir. His clan’s totem is a razrak, a six-legged hunting cat found in Ssilirian wilds. The prominent members of that clan wear body paint that resembles a razrak’s fur. Ssilirians generally only wear clothing for ceremony because their habitat and their scaly hides remove the need for clothes as protection the way humans need them. Body paint became the prominent fashion style because of the large number of dye-producing flora in Ssilir’s rich biosphere.

KiwiValkyrie also worked on an amazing birthday present for Metamorphosis!

It’s utterly amazing what she did and definitely one of the coolest things anyone’s made for this comic! Below are a few still pictures so you can get a clearer view of what’s going on.

Experimented with a new coloring style for this one. It’ll take some getting used to to get it right but generally speaking I like the concept. If time allows I’ll definitely play with this more in the rest of my pages. If it looks clunky to anyone now, it’s because I’m still experimenting to see what works best. Let me know what you think!

My good friend KiwiValkyrie drew an awesome picture of Ianthe the other day. Then Ianthe went to visit the world! First she played some music on the keyboard. Then she broke out the guitar. And then she got tired and decided to watch some TV.

I’ve been finding it easier and less time-consuming to put in background art in my panels so you bloods can all expect more of this stuff in my future comics.

Here’re some shout-outs to some other comics I really like.

Petalface posted an announcement that she’s going to a hand-drawn look. Go see it! Her comic is fun and whimsical. Also, I didn’t realize before but apparently Petalface is male and he likes to attack cities if he’s sodding bored.

In The Becoming, a new Steampunk comic, the Chancellor gets an unexpected visit.

The story Shattered Myth makes a big reveal!

And last, but not least, Clockworks has posted two pages today with a reveal of what Oliver’s been doing while Thorton was runnin’ around in his towel.

Here’s a little more about these Athar sods that Qul wants to go see. More’s comin’ on Thursday.

While I’m here, gonna give you bashers the chant on some other comics. A bunch of the comics I like are all listed up over there on the left sidebar. But sometimes a body’s gotta draw more attention where it’s due. So here’s two for now.

First we’ve got Petalface, a light-hearted and sometimes strange comic written by KiwiValkyrie, my biggest fan. It doesn’t always make sense but it’s sodding charming and not as intensely serious as a lot of comics out there. KiwiValkyrie’s also made a lot of Metamorphosis memorabilia for me that I’m gonna take pictures of and post soon. So go over there and give a cutter a hand.

Next is The Becoming, a brand new steampunk webcomic with really sodding good art. These bashers just started out so head over and get the chant for yourself starting from the first page.

I’m thinkin’ about holding some kind of contest later in the month. Lemme know if you cutters’re interested. No sense in runnin’ a contest when there’s no one to join in, right?
